The gemstone and diamond industry in India provides thousands of jobs and brings in a
lot of foreign exchange each year. Places like Surat, Mumbai and Jaipur are international
hubs for the gemstone and diamond trade. But, the industry is perpetually troubled by lack
of trained manpower, which is required to meet international and domestic demand.
To fill this gap, Mr. Navrattan Kothari, chairman, KGK Group set up the Diamond Training
Institute in 1988 which has been recently uplifted to Diamond and Color Gemstone (DCG)
Training Institute. There are a number of well structured courses that the institute offers to
youngsters who want to make a career in the gemstone and diamond industry. From the
time of inception the institute has trained 3000 students and have made them experts in the
field of coloured gems and diamonds. One of its most respected courses across the
industry is the Diamond Grading and Manufacturing course, which opens up a lot of
avenues for aspiring candidates.
KGK’s vision is to give the industry and the students an institute that helps fulfil their needs.
Through the well structured courses at DCGTI KGK is aiming to give the industry a place to
find good talent and give the next generation good grounding in the gemstone and diamond
trade. The institute has the best faculty and infrastructure in the field to impart good training
to its students. The institute benefits greatly from the KGK Group’s years of global expertise
in the gemstone and diamond trade.
